In this week’s Regulatory Wrap, we reviewed the results from our recent Industry Insights report, which compiled responses from hundreds of compliance professionals around commons compliance and surveillance trends.

Highlights:

1. Over 71% of EMEA-based firms plan to integrate AI into their compliance workflows within the next year compared to 43% of NA firms

2. Over half of North American respondents believe that total bans on channels like WhatsApp and WeChat are effective solutions to prevent off-channel comms compared to 31% of EMEA-base firms

3. 52% of EMEA-based firms allow employees to communicate on all channels and monitor them compared to 31% of North American firms that enable and monitor all channels

4. 39% of firms worldwide are enabling and monitoring comms channels, which is a big increase compared to 10% of firms worldwide in 2023

5. The number of firms banning channels alongside those that think channels bans are effective is dropping each year
