Financial services organizations are embracing new ways of working. From AI-powered productivity in Gmail and Google Docs to collaboration in Google Chat and Google Meet, Google Workspace is helping financial professionals work faster and more efficiently.

But for regulated firms, modernization comes with an important requirement: business communications still need to be captured, retained, and available for regulatory oversight.

Today, Global Relay is pleased to announce the expansion of our suite of Google Workspace connectors to support the compliant capture and archiving of electronic communications for financial institutions.

Global Relay Connectors for Workspace enable the compliant flow of Workspace data into Global Relay Archive across Google Drive, Chat, Calendar, Meet, and Gmail to help financial services organizations adopt the latest Google Workspace capabilities while meeting regulatory requirements such as SEC 17a-4 and FINRA Rule 4511.

Global Relay Connectors structure data from multiple e-communication platforms like email, voice, enterprise collaboration tools, and more into a standardized format, enabling a unified view of communications in Global Relay Archive. With communications and associated metadata brought together in one place, firms can streamline search and eDiscovery, identify trends, detect risks, and make more informed decisions while continuing to adopt the collaboration tools their employees use every day.

Built for the new and emerging channels financial firms need to retain

For financial services firms, the value of modern collaboration tools is clear but implementing new technology also introduces new communications and records that organizations need to manage.

Increasingly, modern financial professionals rely on video meetings to communicate with colleagues, clients, and counterparties.

Through the Google Workspace integration, organizations can export Google Meet recordings, transcripts, and associated metadata directly to Google Cloud Storage, where they can then be archived with Global Relay.

This enables firms to bring another important source of business communications into their broader compliance and records-management environment.

One connected record of business communications – with full context

The connectors capture not only communications, but the contextual data surrounding them—including Google Drive file activity and version history, Google Meet recordings and transcripts, Google Chat conversations and shared files, and associated metadata—to provide a more complete record of business activity.

Financial services organizations don’t communicate through a single channel, and compliance teams shouldn’t have to manage disconnected records across multiple systems. Global Relay brings communications data from across the enterprise together in a centralized environment designed for the requirements of regulated industries.

Innovation and compliance don’t have to be competing priorities. With Google Workspace and Global Relay, financial institutions can embrace modern collaboration and AI while maintaining a trusted, compliant record of their business communications.
