Hewlett-Packard (HP)

Hewlett-Packard, the global leader in information technology, provides Global Relay's hardware for its firewalls, networks, switches, load balancers and servers.

Why HP? Global Relay chose HP for its reliability and high performance redundant Blades and seamless support for SUN Solaris OS 10. In addition, HP's BladeSystems provide virtual management capabilities with extensive real-time monitoring to remotely analyze Global Relay's systems.

Highlight: Global Relay's HP BladeSystem architecture was specifically engineered by HP's High Performance Computing Division to address Global Relay's requirements based on our customers' current and future business needs.

Automated Management

Leveraging the HP BladeSystem, Global Relay has built a consolidated, virtualized, automated environment to support, manage and maintain Global Relay's complex infrastructure elements - computing, storage, network, and power, into a single platform, accelerating the integration and optimization of Global Relay's mirrored data centers. It also provides power and cooling, and systems management.

HP BladeSystem

In the HP BladeSystem, each blade is a stand-alone server with its own processors, memory and hot-swappable hard drives. The blades connect to the chassis backplane for power and network connections. The HP Blade servers consist of two dual-processor blades that take up two of the eight slots, for an aggregate 20 processors to deal with the file I/O-heavy processing and TCP computing power in the blades operation.
